EFQUEL Forum on Quality and Innovation of Learning in Oeiras, 2008 was a success

The EFQUEL Forum in Oeiras was the first independent Forum of the Foundation and was a success that is apparent on the many positive feedbacks we received.

For the success of the event EFQUEL is most thankful to the keynote speakers who gave impulsive overviews in the topic of Innovation and Quality.

We also highly appreciate the valuable support of the hosting institution, INA (Portuguese National Institute for Public Administration) and also the Catholic University of Portugal and Universidade Aberta.

Photos and presentations of the Forum will be soon available on the web-site.

MICROLEARNING2008 Conference

The MICROLEARNING2008 Conference will be held from 25-27 June 2008, at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. The Conference is being organised for the 4th time, and its theme this year is Microlearning&Capacity building.

EFQUEL is a co-organiser of the event with vice-president Ulf-Daniel Ehlers giving a keynote speech with the title "Web 2.0 - E-Learning 2.0 - Quality 2.0 ??". The Conference will also host an EFQUEL related workshop of the Foundation’s project of QMPP (Quality Management of Peer Productions in eLearning).

The Conference presents a platform for international experts and practitioners from very diverse fields to discuss the latest developments in digital technologies and practices stimulated by micro content.

Capacity-building is about empowering individuals, organisations, and societies to keep pace with the global Knowledge Society, notably through the use of internet-based and mobile ICT. The term is mostly used in relation to "lesser-developed countries". But under the conditions of the global digital climate change, everyone needs to adapt: we are seeing the emergence of new technology-driven practices, new patterns of attention, new aggregate states of knowledge, and new hybrid forms that go beyond the antithesis of orality & literacy.

More information is available on the web-site of MICROLEARNING.
